Proposals for an RDF binding of IMS meta-data

On this page you can find several proposed RDF bindings of IMS meta-data version 1.2. These bindings are all outdated, and have been replaced by this binding. This material is kept as a reference.

My comparison between the bindings below.

I have made a comparison between the binding examples provided here. Please read it and comment!

My hierarchical binding ([hier])

An initial RDF version of the LOM example document, that parses using SiRPAC 1.16.

A pre-alpha (not completed, non-functional) version of an RDF schema for this binding.

KBS binding ([kbs])

An alternative experimental RDF schema from KBS, Hannover. It is described in this Word document.

My flat binding ([flat])

One problem with both the above schemas is that they are not very compatible with the Dublin Core schema, which is flat and not very type-safe. Another problem is that categories with ordering demands are not being respected. I have made another example RDF document using a more untyped approach, which promises to be more compatible with Dublin Core and which respects order. We will need more input to decide which way to go.

UNIVERSAL binding ([univ])

Another IMS RDF metadata binding is being produced by the EU-IST project UNIVERSAL (German homepage). Their RDF schema can be found here. It is being updated to more closely match the [saba] schema, taking this document into account. Descriptions of their work with RDF can be found here.

Saba binding ([saba])

Yet another IMS RDF metadata binding was produced by Saba for the 1.1 version of IMS metadata. Their RDF schema can be found here.
